Fireside Ghost Stories

Fireside Ghost Stories is one of the most unique attractions in Salem!

It’s an hour-long Live Ghost Story Performance told in English by master storyteller Ed Gannon.
He will read and perform 3 Ghostly Tales for you, live and in person.
The presentation is offered year-round with shows on most weekend evenings, but Custom show times are available.  Just give us a call and with some notice you and your party can get an experience to talk about for years to come.
The production is suitable for all ages as there is nothing inappropriate, and nothing jumps out at you of course as this is different from the haunted house, but you are sitting in a room enjoying a show for an hour so keep that in mind.
Different times of year there are other versions of “Ghost Stories” such as the Holiday Ghosts in Dec., and the Valentine’s edition in Feb. which includes a small complimentary chocolate tasting.  Different versions may also include different Ghost Stories tailored to the occasion.

These gatherings are small to keep the integrity of the experience; about 14 people max.

We will all sit down here in the Study at Chambers of Terror and I’ll read some ghostly tales to you, it’s true.  But more than that I’ll tell you why we are intrigued by these tales of the supernatural and A little history to put your fright into perspective.

Back in Colonial times, it was a common occurrence for travelers to tell tales person to person by a fire.  You may have even been offered some refreshments. There are some complimentary foodstuffs offered here for you and a small beverage popular in the days of olde so you can appreciate the sense of the past a little more keenly.

In colonial and Victorian periods, the evenings were a time of recuperating from the difficult day spent carving out a living.  A time of keeping warm and safe inside while it raged cold and wet outside.  A time when people would gather round a fire and tell ghost stories!  This tradition continued strongly until almost 200 years ago when technology replaced the fire with light and heat.  Scary stories told by a fire have always been popular, and Night the most popular time to tell them.  Step back in time with us and experience Fireside Ghost Stories!
